Should the mayor run the schools in Minneapolis?
Then what are all these people yammering about?
At the Education Forum and Teacher Appreciation Night at Drinking Liberally on October 17th, one of our speakers was State Senator Patricia Torres Ray, the chair of the Education Policy Committee in the Senate. (A video of the Senator’s presentation will be posted shortly.) The questions was asked of the Senator during the Q&A — artlessly by the host — do you think that the mayor should run the schools in Minneapolis? Here is her reply.

There are candidates for mayor in the upcoming election who apparently DO think they run the schools.
