Drinking Liberally on January 23rd

The Minneapolis chapter of Drinking Liberally will host an evening of music and information about the proposed PolyMet sulfide mine on Thursday, January 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the 331 Club in northeast Minneapolis. This event features musical acts Tin Can Gin (www.TinCanGin.com) and Cobey Rouse of batteryboy (www.batteryboymusic.com) and representatives from Mining Truth, a coalition of Minnesota environmental groups. Drinking Liberally starts to gather at six; our program will begin around seven.

PolyMet’s proposal to build a copper-nickel sulfide mine has attracted widespread attention and concern. Minnesota is in the middle of a 90 day pubic input period where public comments about PolyMet’s mine are being accepted. Drinking Liberally is hosting this event to help Minnesotans learn more about the proposal, while having fun in the convivial atmosphere of the 331 Club.

You will also learn how to make your own voice heard on this important issue.

This is the first event organized by DL’s new hosts, and it looks like great fun, and great information, too. We look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for your feedback. If we like what you have to say, it may appear in a future post of reader reactions.
